Welcome to Tech Planner,
your theatre project management solution. As working theatre artists, we grew tired of shuffling between multiple programs to manage every area of a production. Project management programs available on the market were not tailored to the unique needs of theatre. We needed a better solution.
Tech Planner is a web based project management application. It helps to organize and facilitate the theatre process and generate useful paperwork. You no longer need to use numerous applications to manage your theatre; Tech Planner will do it all.
Tech Planner is not just for Technical Directors and Production Managers. We have found that Tech Planner is also very useful for Prop Masters, Master Electricians, and Charge Artists. Future Phases of Tech Planner will include tools for Stage Management, Costumes, and every other area of the Theatre. This application will help you manage your theatrical productions from beginning to end--assisting in budgeting, actualizing, purchases and income. It also handles material, labor, and stock items tracking, as well as a fully integrated Calendar and Contacts.
Sincerely,
Chad
Lowell

- Tuesday, March 10, 2008
- GENERAL UPDATES : We're not only testing Tech Planner constantly but also using it in our own productions. Through testing and usage we've found many small bugs and needed features; so have now made many of those updates. Tech Planner should be running smoother and better than ever before!

Now you can easily save and manage these views.
- Navigation Bar : Tech Planner can work in multiple windows and tabs concurrently. To make it easier to open pages in a new tab or window, simple hold CTRL or Open Apple when you click on one of Tech Planner's pages, an it will be opened in a new window or tab.
- Wednesday, December 31, 2008
- Materials List : It seems unnecessary to go back and forth between New Materials List and Vendor's Materials, so we've combined the two and renamed the page as Materials List.
- Budget and Bid : We've realized that the term "Budget" might be confusing, so we've decided to refer to a Budget as something that's been given to you, and a Bid as the calculations you are making.
- Budget Tree View : Added a Default Hourly Rate feature. Now you no longer have to re-enter the same hourly rate over and over.
- Budget Tree View : Because the Budget Line Summary was slowing things down, we decided to remove it from the BTV. However, we've fixed it and now it's back.

Accounts : We've done a slight overhaul to Tech Planner's accounts and we're pretty excited about the implications. The changes you'll see and what they mean are as follows:
- Usernames : We're now asking that all Users use their email addresses for their Usernames. This is advantageous because it ensures the validity of all Tech Planner users, thereby increasing security. But more importantly, it ensures that all Users can take advantage of the upcoming features of Phase II which will include many email invitations, reminders, and alerts.
- Accounts : In preparation for future accounts and the upgrading of current accounts, we've integrated Account Information. This allows you to see information pertaining to the Tech Planner Subscription you've purchased or are currently testing.
- Usage Meter : When we begin charging for Tech Planner, we will determine price in accordance to the actual Computer Harddrive Space allotted on our server. Part of your account information includes a usage meter so you can always see how much space you've actually used.
- Multiple Accounts : We recognize that someone might require access to multiple Tech Planner accounts. For example, a free lance designer might need to use five different theatre's Tech Planner accounts. To accommodate this, we've made it possible for you, as the Account Administrator to invite existing uses. That user can then access your account in accordance with the permissions you've set in Tech Planner's Permissions Manager page.
- My Homepage : Tech Planner contains an abundance of information, and the types of data it can manage is only growing. So to help you keep track of what's important to you today, we've created My Homepage, a hub of all things Tech Planner. From here you can manage your account and personal information, see upcoming events, message other users. Of course as Tech Planner grows, this page will become increasingly advantageous.
